removal of sim card, still endangered by radiation?
i wish to use my cell phone (that i’m not using for daily texting/calling) as an alarm clock every morning but i’m wondering if it’s safe to now that the sim card is not present? please advise!
The radio waves that cell phones give off are extremely minute and have not been shown to cause any problems at all. Keeping it arm’s length away on your side table (instead of under your pillow) is a reasonable precaution just in case.
Removing the SIM card however does not necessarily turn off the radio. You can, by law, still place and emergency phone call to 911 (112 in Europe) regardless if you have a SIM card inserted or not. Instead, you need to look for a feature called “Air plane mode” or “Turn off wireless” or “Turn off Radio”. It should be in your user manual, or post your exact make and model and someone can probably help you out.
