People monitoring CCTV systems are one thing, would you be happy with a computer judging your behaviour?
We have so many CCTV cameras in the UK that the government is considering using Intelligent Video Motion Detection to monitor them all.

This software detects suspicious behaviour, pent up rage, objects or cars parked in sensitive areas, and can watch many more systems than a human could.
There are already ‘talking’ CCTV systems, and others that have microphones attached to them, would you mind a machine telling you when you are talking or behaving incorrectly?
The US is hoping to bring a similar system into airports by 2012, called ‘Project Hostile Intent’

It’s similar to the lie-detection software being used by some local councils to try and work out which benefit claimants are not being truthful.
I have particular concerns that these systems will label anyone who doesn’t fit the norm of behaviour (e.g. from a different culture, person with a learning disability, person with a mental health problem, etc) as “hostile” / lying etc.
